Flood usually happened in various place in the world because of climate change and heavy rainfall in these years. In other hand, dams break can cause of flood that lead to damages to people and urban area in downstream. Calculating flood velocity can help us to minimizing damages. Also regarding the place of dams that are in mountain area, effect of curves on the flood pathway on flood velocity is really important. The researcher worked on the effect of downstream and upstream water level on the velocity of flood wave in the 90 degree curved canal. For flood velocity measuring rapidly photography technique has been done. The result of the research shows 33% decrease for 0 degree, 58% decrease for 45 degree, 58% decrease for 90 degree and 62% decrease for 105 degree between minimum value and maximum value of rate of downstream water level on upstream one. Moreover, the results show maximum water surface elevation occur between 25 to 35 in a 90 degree mild bend, after that water surface elevation has a significant drop.
