Abstract

Crop growth simulation models are useful tools for studying different scenarios on deficit irrigation. These models need to be calibrated and evaluated before use. AquaCrop model is one of the newest models offered by the FAO and Due to the constant input parameters; it is of interest to experts. In this study, parameter GDD from planting seeds to start the senescence is that one of the input variables AquaCrop model for maize in the region of Qazvin were calibrated. For calibration and evaluation of the Model, results of Sotodenia (2002) that was don for 704 single crass varieties in Ismail Abad in the Qazvin during two years of field research was conducted in 1379 and 1380, were used. The results showed that the lowest error estimate by selecting the 1200 degree days from sowing to start the senescence for above variety can be obtained. Statistical measures of coefficient of determination, root mean square error and mean bias error, respectively, 0.93, 1.5 ton per hectare, 0.5 ton per hectare were estimated
