In the water scarcity condition, using deficit irrigation and appropriate planting pattern are the most strategies to improve water productivity. In order to find requirement water volume and suitable planting arrangement, an experiment was conducted during 2019 and 2021 in Gorgan agricultural research station under drip irrigation condition. The experimental design was strip plot in a randomized complete block design with three replications. Treatments were including four irrigation volumes [Irrigation at %125 (I1), %100 (I2), %75 (I3) and %50 of water content of field capacity (I4)], as main plots, and planting arrangement of single row, paralleled double row 25 cm and zigzag double row 25 cm as sub plots. The needed plant water estimated with measurement of soil moisture before irrigation from root development deep and calculation shortage of moisture at without tension treatment. The root yield at treatment of irrigation at %125 of field capacity was 78.83 ton ha-1 and compare to irrigation at %75 and %50 of field capacity 13 percent and 37 percent was better. The final product of sugar beet cultivation was achieved at the 75% irrigation levels. The zigzag planting arrangement with mean yield of 73.39 and 20.99 ton ha-1 had the highest white sugar and sugar beet fodder respectively. Interaction effect of planting arrangement and irrigation volume showed the zigzag planting arrangement with irrigation at %100 with yield of 84.28 ton ha-1 had the high production compare to other treatments. The results of this project, with consumption of 4338 m3 ha-1 water at %100 of field capacity and treatment consumption of 3559 m3 ha-1 water at %75 of field capacity can get acceptable yield. At %75 of field capacity treatment in case of low water consumption recommended with zigzag planting arrangement. This irrigation schedule conserved irrigation water (18%), and achieved maximum irrigation water-use efficiency.
