Given the scarcity of water resources and high-water consumption in paddy fields, it is essential to find modern irrigation methods. In this study, the effects of drip irrigation (tape irrigation) on the yield of different rice genotypes were investigated. was arranged as a split-split plot based on a randomized complete block design with three replications. The experimental treatments included irrigation interval (1, 2, and 3-days) as the main plot, irrigation volume (100, 130, and 150% of evaporation from the class A pan) as the sub-plot, and rice genotypes (the lines IR2 and IR6, and the local cultivar Tarom) as the sub-sub-plot. At physiological maturity, the morphological traits, yield components and grain yield were measured. The results indicated that the highest grain yield in different combinations of one-day interval was obtained with Tarom genotypes (100% volume) and IR2 (130% volume), although there was no significant difference with the 150% volume treatment. Also, by increasing the irrigation interval from 1 to 3 days and reducing the irrigation volume, the yield and agronomic traits of rice genotypes decreased. Based on the findings, planting Tarom cultivar with one-day irrigation interval and 100% volume caused a reduction of about 33% of irrigation volume compared to the base treatment (150% volume). Therefore, this treatment is introduced as the optimal treatment to achieve the dual goal of maintaining yield and reducing irrigation water volume.
